Widgets

Widgets are layers that show live data from your stream and Discord. Add them from Widgets in the add panel; select one to see its Widget settings in the inspector, below a Test box. Most widgets also have an Appearance block (background, text color, corners, padding, font, background image) — and every widget can use the full Design & animation tab on top. The alert box has its own page: Alert box & designer.

How it works#

  • Event-driven widgets (alert box, label, event list, count-up, hype meter, sub train, session stats, ticker) react to follows, subs, gift subs, bits, raids, channel-point redemptions and tips as they happen.
  • Number widgets (goal, Twitch stats) use your real Twitch numbers, refreshed about every 90 seconds and topped up instantly by live events in between.
  • Discord widgets (Discord stats, activity, voice) use your server's own data — something only a bot that runs both Discord and your stream can do.
  • Config widgets (credits, sponsor, countdown, progress bar, custom HTML) show exactly what you type in.

Before you start#

Twitch connected (Streaming → Twitch Integration) for Twitch numbers and events. Kick/YouTube events also flow into event widgets.
For the leaderboard: Loyalty set up.
For Discord online count: the bot's Presence intent.

Set it up#

Open the editor

On the Overlays tab, click an overlay's thumbnail or its Edit button.

The bar shows e.g. 12 / 1000 and grows with every follow.

Every setting explained#

Alerts & events
Alert boxPop-up alerts per event with text, image/GIF/video, sound and text-to-speech. Full guide: Alert box & designer.
Event listThe most recent events as a list (Name followed, Name cheered 500 bits, …). Settings: Max items (default 8), Font size (16) + Appearance.
LabelOne line of text with live tokens, e.g. Latest follower: {{latestFollower}}. Template (use + Insert token), Font size (32), Text color + Appearance. Tokens: latestFollower, latestSubscriber, latestGiftSub, latestCheer, latestCheerBits, latestRaid, latestRaidViewers, latestRedemption, latestTipper, latestTipAmount.
TickerA scrolling marquee with the same tokens as Label. Template, Speed (px/sec) (120 — stays the same speed however wide you make it), Font size (28), Text color + Appearance.
Emote rainImages rain over the screen when anyone types the trigger in Twitch chat. Emote images (upload several), Trigger command (!hype), Cooldown (seconds) (10), Count (24), Duration (ms) (6000), Direction: Fall, Rise or Fly across. Size it to the whole canvas for a full-screen effect.
Goals & counters
GoalA progress bar toward a target. Metric: Followers, Subscribers, Bits, Tips or Manual. Target, Label. Manual: type the Current value yourself. Others: Baseline to subtract — e.g. your follower count today, so the goal tracks +50 this month instead of your lifetime total. Uses your real Twitch number (every ~90 s); without Twitch it counts live events since the widget was added.
FollowersSubscribersBitsTipsManual
Progress barA bar you fill by hand: Value, Max (100), Label, Bar color + Appearance. Change Value (or use it in an automation) to update it.
Hype meterAn energy bar that spikes on bits, subs, gift subs and raids and cools down when it's quiet. Decay time (seconds) (120) = how long one spike takes to fade, Label + Appearance.
Sub trainAppears as soon as 2+ subs/gift subs land within the window of each other and shows Label ×N; disappears when the window passes without a new sub. Window (seconds) (60), Label + Appearance.
CountdownCounts down to a moment. Target date/time, Label, Completed text (It's time!) + Appearance — great for a Starting soon scene.
Count-up timerTime since the last event of a type (e.g. time since last follow). Source event (Follow, Subscribe, Gift sub, Cheer, Raid, Redemption, Tip), Label + Appearance.
Session statsThis stream: new followers, subs and bits since the stream started. Label + Appearance.
Chat & community
ChatboxYour live chat on stream. Max messages (20), Font size (16), Show mod/VIP/sub badges + Appearance. The editor fills it with your recent chat so it isn't empty.
PollShows the poll a Channel Point reward started (Start Poll action — set the question and answers on the Channel Point Rewards page) and Twitch's own native polls automatically. Settings are only about the look: Idle text (shown when no poll runs), Results heading, Voting instructions, question/option font sizes, Bar color, Bar track color, and toggles Show bars, Show vote counts, Show percentages, Highlight winner (👑).
LeaderboardTop Loyalty point holders, updated live when balances change. Title (Top Supporters), Show top N (10), Font size (18), Show point totals + Appearance. Set up Loyalty first.
CreditsAn end-of-stream credits roll you write yourself. Title (Thanks for watching!), Scroll speed (px/sec) (60), Loop, and sections: each has a heading and one name per line. Add section adds one.
Discord statsOne Discord number: Member count, Online count, Boost count, Channel count or Role count, with a Label. Updates about every 20 s. Online count needs the bot's Presence intent.
Member countOnline countBoost countChannel countRole count

ListRowGrid
Media
Media ShareA playlist of images, videos and sounds you trigger yourself. Add image / Add video / Add audio add items; each has a label and duration (ms) (8000). Play now shows an item on stream immediately; the bin removes it.
Now PlayingYour current Spotify song. It has no settings here: look, source and behavior are set once on the Now Playing page so it looks the same everywhere. Here you only set position and size.
Sponsor overlayRotating sponsor cards. Rotate every (seconds) (8); each sponsor has a name, an optional message and a logo. Add sponsor adds one.
Custom HTML/CSS/JSYour own code, rendered in a sandboxed frame scoped to this widget. No Appearance block — your CSS controls the look.
Test box (in the inspector)

What Test does depends on the widget.

Event widgetsPick an event (Follower, Subscriber, Gift sub, Bits, Raid, Channel points, Donation) and click Test — a TestUser event goes to the live feed, so both the editor and OBS react.
ChatboxType a test message and Send.
Discord activityTest Discord join.
Emote rainTest emote rain.
Number & config widgetsNo test button: goal, progress bar, countdown, stats, sponsor and custom HTML show their real or typed values directly.
Appearance
AppearanceShared by most widgets: Background color (default rgba(0,0,0,0.55)), Text color, Corner radius (default 16), Padding (default 16), Font (Sans-serif, Serif, Monospace, Display) and an optional Background image.

Good to know#

Use Test data in the top bar while designing so every widget shows believable content even before your first stream.
Stats widgets show the same number in every overlay — you can place one in several scenes.
Custom HTML runs your own JavaScript in OBS. Only paste code you trust.

Troubleshooting#

The goal shows the wrong number
Check the Metric and Baseline to subtract — the bar shows current minus baseline. Real Twitch numbers refresh every ~90 s.
Twitch stats shows —
Twitch isn't connected yet, or the connection needs re-authorising. See Twitch Integration.
Discord online count is 0
The bot needs the Presence intent for online counts. Member/boost/channel/role counts work without it.
The poll widget never shows anything
It only shows while a poll runs: a Channel Point reward with the Start Poll action, or a native Twitch poll. Outside polls it shows the Idle text.
