Overlays travel easily between streamers. A share code (DAB-OVL-…) or a .dabovl file gives someone else their own copy; the Market lets anyone browse and install community overlays and official DAB packs. Your OBS token, channels and roles never come along — whoever imports gets a clean copy.
How it works#
- Share and import from the overview: the share icon on an overlay card, and Import at the top.
- Importing always shows a preview of every scene first, and creates new overlays — it never touches your existing ones.
- Community items in the Market are always free. Only official DAB packs can have a price (one-time PayPal payment). During the test phase everything is free to install.
- Items you submit are checked by the DAB team before they appear (Under review). Official packs from staff go live immediately.

Set it up#

Open the page
In the Studio sidebar, under STREAM TOOLS, click Overlays.
Open sharing
Click the share icon on the overlay card.
Make a code
Share code → Create code → copy the DAB-OVL-XXXXXXXX code and send it.
They import it
Their Overlays page → Import → paste the code → Look up → check the preview → Import.
They have their own editable copy; your overlay is unchanged.

Share dialog

Import

Unknown share code
Check for typos — codes look like
DAB-OVL-XXXXXXXX. Codes are case-insensitive.This isn't a valid .dabovl file
The file was changed or isn't a DAB overlay export. Ask for a fresh download.
My Market item was rejected
The reason is shown on the card in My shared. Fix it (usually rights to artwork) and submit again.
